Sun-Net Consulting (SNC) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from FirstEnergy for the provision and installation of an integrated Transmission Outage Application (TOA®) software system for their Switching, Outage Coordination and Logging needs.
“SNC’s software will provide FirstEnergy with a proven, state-of-the art and integrated tool for managing their outage coordination process through out all two Transmission Control Centers and seven Regional Distribution Control Centers cross Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It will help First Energy to streamline and unify practice and improve reliability.” said Daniel Sun, Principal consultant at Sun-Net Consulting in San Jose, California.
FirstEnergy has two transmission control centers and seven regional control centers crossing three states and two different power markets. The eastern part is in PJM market and the western part is in Midwest ISO market. TOA® is going to have program interface with Midwest ISO and PJM market for request submission and approval status checking. FirstEnergy is going to use TOA® switching request processing, switching order writing and event logging tools for their operation.
