San Jose, California July 16, 2014 – San Jose based Sun-Net Consulting Inc., specializing in developing operations software tools for the utility industry, announced that it has been awarded the contract for Sun-Net’s iTOA® software suite by Westar Energy.
Headquartered in Topeka, Westar Energy employs about 2,400 people and serves nearly 700,000 customers in much of east and east-central Kansas. As the largest electric utility in Kansas, Westar’s energy centers generate more than 7,000 megawatts of electricity with wind, coal, nuclear energy, natural gas and landfill gas generation. Westar Energy operates and coordinates 35,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines.
“Westar will implement iTOA® suite as an enterprise wide solution for consolidating transmission, distribution, generation and power plant logs. Westar will also utilize iTOA® suite capabilities for tracking clearances, coordinating outage requests, preparing switching orders, interfacing with the SPP scheduling tool and enabling field personnel to electronically submit request, log clearances and substation visits.” said Helen Hu, president of Sun-Net Consulting Inc.
